Tool, White Stripes headed to Bonnaroo?

Tool, the White Stripes, Wolfmother and many others will reportedly join previously announced headliners the Police at the 2007 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, according to RollingStone.com. The official announcement is expected today (Wednesday, February 14th), with the lineup leaking a day earlier through a hidden page at the festival web site that has since been taken down. If the leaked list turns out to be real, however, the inclusion of Tool and Wolfmother will make for a harder-rocking show than the laid-back Bonnaroo has been known for.

Although this would be Tool's first Bonnaroo, the band are veterans of dozens of other festivals. Drummer Danny Carey told us he even has a favorite time of day to perform: "I like going on when it's light out and then as it gets dark, you know, 'cause then it's really neat. It's kind of like your set sort of goes through a metamorphosis or something. It's just, playing from the twilight, you know, kind of into the darkness works really well for the show, I always thought. It's kind of a good vibe. It's a beautiful time of day."

Other acts included on the rumored lineup include Franz Ferdinand, Kings Of Leon, Widespread Panic, Ween, Gov't Mule, the String Cheese Incident, Fountains Of Wayne, the Hold Steady and dozens more.

The Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival is scheduled for June 14th through the 17th in Manchester, Tennessee.

Tool will begin a new North American tour on March 15th in Las Vegas, while the White Stripes have now reportedly signed a new record deal with Warner Bros. Records. It's not known at the moment whether the Detroit duo will have a new album ready before Bonnaroo.
