Van Halen reunion tour on hold?
The Van Halen reunion tour, which would have teamed the band with original frontman David Lee Roth for the first time in 22 years, is postponed "indefinitely," according to Pollstar.com. Sources confirmed the news late on Tuesday, February 20th after a number of radio stations began reporting rumors that the trek was in trouble over contractual issues. One source said that despite an announcement earlier this month by Van Halen's management that the tour was officially happening, a deal was reportedly never finalized between the band, Roth and the tour's promoter, Live Nation. There was no official confirmation at press time of the postponement. Inquiries by us to various publicists, managers and representatives associated with Van Halen were either not answered or met with "no comment."
A planned greatest hits collection focusing on the band's Roth era and due for release in early April has also reportedly been scrapped.
No dates for the tour had ever been revealed, but there were rumors that it would begin in Las Vegas in late April.
Van Halen will still be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 12th in New York City, which should be even more entertaining now.
