Alice Cooper & Queen influences for My Chemical Romance

My Chemical Romance has drawn comparisons to theatrical rock acts like Queen and Alice Cooper with the band's new Black Parade concept album and live show. Although singer Gerard Way never got to go to an actual concert by either artist, he told us how Alice Cooper in particular still managed to make an impact on him: "In elementary school, I had this friend who has this cooler older sister, and she loved Alice Cooper and stuff like that. She had these videos, and when I would sleep over his house she would show us all these amazing bootleg videos of live performances of Alice Cooper. I just remember being like, 'Wow, this is nuts.' Like, I'd never seen any -- it was, like, disturbing and really good at the same time."

My Chemical Romance goes onstage on its current tour as its alter-ego, the Black Parade, and plays the entire album from start to finish.

The band returns for the last 30 minutes of its set as My Chemical Romance to play some of its older hits.

They wrapped up a U.S. tour on Friday (March 16th) in Reno and begins a European jaunt on Tuesday, March 20th, in the U.K.
