Anna Nicole Smith funeral this morning
Anna Nicole Smith is to be buried today (March 2nd) in a dress that was custom-made for the occasion. Her dolled-up corpse is scheduled to leave the Florida medical examiner's office -- where it's been for the past three weeks -- between five and six in the morning, after which it'll be put on a plane at Miami International Airport, flown to the Bahamas, and taken to the Mount Horeb Baptist Church in Nassau for a 10:30 memorial service. Country crooner Joe Nichols will perform "I'll Wait For You" and "On The Wings Of A Dove" in front of about 300 mourners attending the pink-themed event.
A smaller family service will take place after that at the dead model's gravesite, where she'll be buried alongside her son Daniel. Smith's companion Howard K. Stern, ex-boyfriend Larry Birkhead, and Smith's estranged mother Virgie Arthur are putting their differences aside to attend the services, which are closed to the public.
Organizers describe Smith's big memorial as "over the top." Planner Patrik Simpson told the Associated Press, "It will be something very beautiful, very private, very over the top and very pink."
