Coldplay singer talks new album
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin said that the members of his band have found the key to making their fourth album, according to Yahoo! News. Martin explained at a press conference in Mexico City that in order for the group to get excited about a new record, "we have to have one song that we feel like everybody has to hear before we die, otherwise we'll be terribly depressed. So luckily with this new record we're going to make, we have that one song." Martin jokingly added, "I can't tell you about it, but it's basically genius."
Martin made his remarks before the final concert of the band's South American tour, which began last month and has visited Chile, Argentina and Brazil in addition to Mexico.
The band has not announced when it will begin recording, but it does plan to work with U2 producer Brian Eno.
Meanwhile, Martin has reportedly not been in the best of moods when dealing with the press on the South American jaunt. One Brazilian journalist from a Sao Paulo publication wrote, "(Actress) Gwyneth Paltrow must suffer. Chris Martin, her husband, isn't one of the nicest persons on earth. At least that's what it seemed on the 20 minutes press conference."
When a female reporter asked Martin if he ever planned to sing a duet with Paltrow, he snapped, "What's your favorite sexual position?" He later stormed out of the press conference when Paltrow's name was mentioned again.
