Doctors OK Roger Daltrey finishing Who tour
The Who tour will go on. Pete Townshend, who has been keeping fans abreast of Roger Daltrey's medical crisis as he battled a viral infection and alarmingly low sodium levels which led to dangerous dehydration, reported on his official blog yesterday that Daltrey has been given the go-ahead to perform.Townshend posted on his blog (petetownshend-whohe.blogspot.com) that: "The last four shows of the tour will go ahead. Roger has been advised by no less then three doctors that he is okay to perform and although I think he may still find the next few days hard (more shows in a row than we normally do) I'm sure we'll be great. Thanks for your patience. See you in Little Rock, Oklahoma, Tampa and Fort Lauderdale(sic)."
The Who's final U.S. dates are:
March 22 - North Little Rock, AR - Alltel Arena
March 23 - Oklahoma City, OK - Ford Center
March 25 - Tampa, FL - Ford Amphitheatre at the State Fairgrounds
March 26 - Hollywood, FL - Seminole Hard Rock Casino
There has been no announcement whether the band's canceled gigs in Mexico City and San Antonio will be rescheduled for later this year, although there are rumors that the Who may return to play secondary markets in the fall.
