Heather Mills not worried about leg popping off
Will Heather Mills' prosthetic leg come off during Dancing With The Stars or won't it? That seems to be the biggest selling point for the ABC reality series, which airs its second Season Four episode on March 26th.
Mills lost the bottom half of her left leg in a motorcycle accident 14 years ago. She considers Dancing With The Stars as a venue to encourage others with artificial limbs to continue living regular lives, though there is nothing ordinary about the way Mills dealt with her fake leg early on. The soon-to-be former Mrs. Paul McCartney said the leg used to come off when she was out at nightclubs: "I used to go down to the disco and it would just fall off and all these people would go, 'Oh my god!' And I think some of them must have been on drugs or something 'cause they were screaming with all the disco lights flashing everywhere, and there's this artificial leg. So I would just get it and pop it under my arm and hop out to the fire exit, hitch my skirt, pop it back on and come out again."
Mills is confident her leg will stay put during the competition because she has strapped it on: "Now I've got a strap on my leg. I've got no worries of my leg coming off. So I don't think Len Goodman's going to get my leg flying at him unless he gives me horrible comments, but apart from that. So I'd say I'm an average dancer and I'm just trying my best."
The 11 celebrity contestants on Dancing With The Stars give the mambo and the quickstep a try tonight. The show airs at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
