Johnny Depp's daughter recovering from blood poisoning
Johnny Depp's seven-year-old daughter Lily Rose is "doing much better" after being hospitalized for more than a week in London. The girl reportedly contracted blood poisoning by stepping on a rusty tack a couple of weeks ago and has been in "serious condition" ever since.
Depp and longtime girlfriend Vanessa Paradis are keeping vigil at the girl's bedside and his rep said yesterday (March 8th) that things are looking up, "We are happy to report that their daughter is doing much better. The family greatly appreciates the continued support and respect of their privacy."
Depp is in England to make a film version of the stage musical Sweeney Todd. The movie's production schedule has been shifted to accommodate his daughter's medical emergency.
Not too long ago, Depp said he couldn't ever imagine losing his daughter: "Even proposing the idea to yourself, to feel something like that is wrong. It feels really wrong because I couldn't do it in life, in real life. I mean, I couldn't exist anymore. I just wouldn't be anymore."
Depp and Paradis are also parents of five-year-old Jack.
