Kid Rock accused of assaulting woman
Kid Rock has been accused of assaulting a 28-year-old woman outside his Clarkston, Michigan home, according to the Oakland Press. The woman claimed that Rock, whose real name is Bob Ritchie, invited her and another man to his house to listen to music after meeting them in a bar on the night of March 8th. Rock allegedly became angry when the woman refused to spend the night, grabbing her twice by the neck outside his house and making her fall into a snow bank as he pushed her toward her car. The man who accompanied the woman to Rock's home corroborated her story, according to local police.
Rock admitted to inviting the pair back to his house, but said that the woman began acting rudely and claimed she would accuse the musician of assault after he asked her to leave.
A third person on the scene, a man, has sided with Rock's version of events. Members of the entire group admitted to using alcohol that night.
No arrests have been made yet in the matter. Oakland County Undersheriff Michael McCabe said, "At this point, we have two people who say one thing and two other people that say something else. Once the investigation is completed, a report will be given to the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office."
