My Chemical Romance confirmed for Download

My Chemical Romance and Linkin Park lead the list of acts performing at the U.K.'s massive Download Festival, set to take place on June 8th, 9th and 10th at Donington Park in Leicestershire, England. Although guitarist Ray Toro said that My Chemical Romance doesn't always like playing festivals, he added that sometimes the lineup is too great to resist: "We did the Big Day Out festivals in Australia and, I mean, those were incredible. You know, like, when you're on tour, you know, with other bands that you not only respect but you enjoy their music, it just makes it a lot of fun, and we normally like to try to avoid the kind of festival shows or don't have as much fun at them, but when you have a great lineup, like that they've put together for that, you can't not have fun."

My Chemical Romance will headline the Friday (June 8th) bill, with Linkin Park doing the honors on the 9th and British veterans Iron Maiden closing the festivities on the 10th.

Other acts slated to appear include Buckcherry, Velvet Revolver, Evanescence, Korn, Killswitch Engage, Marilyn Manson, Megadeth, Motley Crue, 30 Seconds To Mars, Slayer, Wolfmother and many more.

Tickets for this year's event are reportedly selling faster than ever before, with organizers looking to possibly expand the size of the festival site.
