New Korn touring guitarist speaks out
Former Sevendust and current Dark New Day guitarist Clint Lowery has spoken out about his new gig as Korn's touring guitarist, which makes him the second axeman to replace founding member Brian "Head" Welch. Lowery wrote online, "I've been a huge fan of (Korn) for a long time and to be asked to be involved with them in any capacity is a huge honor. I will be touring with them this year but the new Dark New Day record will be completed before I leave out with the Korn camp. My band has been very supportive about this and I love them for that."
Lowery added that he was "very excited about sharing the stage with Korn. Their live show is crazy and I look forward to trying my best to add to what already is an amazing show."
Korn guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer told us that he's thrilled to have Lowery on board: "I'm really happy that Clint...you know, every person I speak with, everybody just says, 'Wow, what a wonderful guy he is.' And it just seems like it fits right in with us."
Lowery made his debut with Korn last week on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The job was held last year by Rob Patterson.
Korn is recording its eighth studio album for a July 17th release. Lowery will join the band on tour in support of the record.
Dark New Day's follow-up to its 2005 debut, Twelve Year Silence, is expected out later this year.
