Nickelback going into Canadian Hall Of Fame
Nickelback will be inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame on June 9th, according to Jam! Music. The quartet will join a list of new inductees that includes actress Catherine O'Hara, Crossing Jordan star Jill Hennessy, hockey legend Johnny Bower and Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman, along with several others. The induction ceremony will be held in Toronto and hosted by actor Eugene Levy. This will be the 10th anniversary of the Walk of Fame, which recognizes Canadians who have excelled in entertainment, sports and the arts both nationally and globally.
Candidates must have been born in Canada or spent their formative or creative years in the country. They also must have a body of work recognized for its impact on Canada's cultural heritage.
Previous inductees have included Kiefer Sutherland, Alanis Morissette, Jim Carrey, Shania Twain, Wayne Gretzky and Michael J. Fox.
Nickelback is currently on the road for what will probably be the last tour in support of its multi-platinum 2005 album, All The Right Reasons. The band plays tomorrow (Friday, March 9th) in Hampton, Virginia.
