Nine Inch Nails DVD leads to more hidden websites
Nine Inch Nails' newly released concert DVD, Beside You In Time, contains clues leading to more hidden web sites that relate to the concept behind the band's upcoming new album, Year Zero. According to RollingStone.com, the name of a site called SecureBroadcastInformatics.com is spelled out in the packaging of the Blu-Ray edition of the disc. Assembling a puzzle at that site and entering the password "Matt26:45-46" brings you to solutionsbackwardsinitiative.net, a site where people from the near future store and circulate banned art and literature.
Year Zero is due out on April 17th. A new trailer for the CD has been posted at yearzero.nin.com. The first official single is called "Survivalism."
The album takes place in the year 2022, when the U.S. has been taken over by a fanatical religious government that may be putting drugs in the nation's water supply while citizens are seeing visions of an entity called "the Presence."
Other web sites that tie into the concept include Iamtryingtobelieve.com, anotherversionofthetruth.com, bethehammer.net and uswiretap.com.
Clues about the sites, as well as songs from the album, have been found on computer drives left in venue bathrooms on the band's current European tour.
