Panic! At The Disco working on new album in seclusion
Panic! At The Disco has retreated to a cabin in the hills of Nevada to begin working on its second album, according to MTV. The group arrived at the cabin on Tuesday (March 7th) to start writing new songs. Guitarist Ryan Ross posted a message at the band's web site which read in part, "This record is going to be something very special to me, and I hope it is to all of you as well. I've got a few handfuls of lyrics and a pinch of music started so far, should be interesting to see what happens...we're all very excited to be doing this again."
Ross recently told us that he's not exactly sure what musical direction the new album will take: "I've been trying to get my ideas straight for what I want it to be about and musically where we want to go, which is still kind of up in the air. But I feel like it's gonna be a lot smarter and a little bit more musical, I guess, just because we've been playing, you know, for an extra year and learning more about music."
The new Panic! At The Disco album is expected out this fall. It will follow up the Las Vegas-based act's platinum 2006 debut, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out.
Panic! At The Disco was signed by Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz to his Decaydance label.
