Paul McCartney & Heather Mills begin preliminary divorce hearings
Paul McCartney and estranged wife Heather Mills wrapped up their second and final day of preliminary testimony in their divorce proceedings yesterday (Thursday, March 1st) in London's High Court. The Associated Press reported that, according to British law, no media was allowed in the courtroom. The case, which is being heard in London's High Court Family Division, has been listed as case number "FD06D03721." Neither McCartney nor Mills was asked to give testimony during the proceedings.
Macca exited the building, whistling and snapping his fingers, yet did not issue a statement to reporters. Mills left the courthouse about 30 minutes later through a back entrance.
There have been varying reports about the couple trying to come to a financial settlement, with the $50 million number being the most widely reported. McCartney and Mills, who were married in 2002, currently share custody of their three-year old daughter Beatrice.
In other McCartney/Beatles-related news:
Ringo Starr's wife Barbara Bach and George Harrison's widow Olivia Harrison were on hand yesterday (Thursday, March 1st) at Stella McCartney's fashion show in Paris at the Palais de Chaillot. Maccareport.com posted that Bach was still using a cane after injuring herself during a horseback riding accident last year.
Bach and Harrison were close friends with Stella's mother, the late Linda McCartney. In 1990, all four Beatles wives, including Yoko Ono, helped raise money for the Harrisons' Romanian Angel Appeal charity.
