Paul McCartney rumoured to be dating Guinness heiress
A representative for Paul McCartney has denied that he and socialite and Guinness heiress Sabrina Guinness are an item.
On Wednesday night (March 21st), McCartney was spotted picking up Guinness for a double-date with his daughter Stella McCartney and her husband Alasdhair Willis in London. Over the weekend blurry paparazzi shots of the couple meeting and embracing were posted on the Internet.
Britain's Daily Mirror reported that, upon noticing that they were being trailed by the press, McCartney dropped Guinness off at a friend's house and had a long dinner with his daughter and son in-law. McCartney, who sat with his family near a window at the Notting Hill restaurant, enjoyed several bottles of wine, and came outside several times to admonish the press for bothering him.
The 52 year-old Guinness heiress has in the past been romantically linked to Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Rod Stewart, Jack Nicholson, and Prince Charles.
The Daily Mail quoted McCartney earlier that day as saying, "I realize everyone wants to see me with a new bird right now and that's very flattering. I've known this lady for a while. We enjoy each other's company and when we get together we talk about stuff like the environment and Al Gore -- things like that. We have similar views... As you probably know I'm going through a pretty difficult divorce right now too. I just fancied going out for a few drinks to relax. We're meeting up with my daughter and that's that. It's not really a big thing."
A source close to the couple spoke to The Mirror and shed some light on McCartney and Guinness' relationship, revealing that, "Paul has known Sabrina for quite a time but their friendship has recently begun to deepen. She is a much-needed shoulder to cry on. She's taking him to meet her friends and is helping him rediscover life."
The source added that, "Paul adores female company and it is ten months since his split. No one expects him to spend the rest of his life on his own. He obviously gets on with Sabrina. They have lots in common."
McCartney has been friends with other members of the Guinness family.
In 1967, McCartney and John Lennon immortalized Guinness heir Tara Browne, who died in a car crash in December 1966, which inspired the first verse of the Beatles' legendary track "A Day In The Life."
