Red Hot Chili Peppers fan killed waiting for tickets
A Red Hot Chili Peppers fan was killed by a hit-and-run driver in New Zealand yesterday morning (Monday, March 5th) while camped out to buy tickets for an upcoming show by the band. According to Gigwise, the unidentified 18-year-old fan was sleeping in a parking lot outside the shopping center where the tickets were slated to go on sale that morning. He was hit and killed instantly by a dark Nissan Skyline which did not stop. Local police are asking for help in finding the driver.
The Chili Peppers show is scheduled for the New Zealand city of Auckland in April. A representative for the group issued a statement that read, "The band's hearts and prayers are with the family at this sad time."
The Chili Peppers are currently on a North American tour and stop tonight (Tuesday, March 6th) in San Antonio, Texas.
