Saliva posts "Ladies and Gentlemen" online
Saliva has begun streaming the video for its single "Ladies and Gentlemen" at the web site of its label, islanddefjam.com. The track has spent four weeks at or near the top of the rock charts and has edged its way up the alternative chart as well. Singer Josey Scott described the video as a "period piece" and gave us a rundown of the clip's concept: "We had a boxing ring with these Suicide Chicks that are all tatted up, and basically the video is us performing in the ring and the two Suicide Chicks beating the sh...dog mess out of each other. I think it's our first video that I've gotten to actually play a role in. I'm the ring announcer, the 'let's get ready to rumble,' that dude. I got these horn-rimmed glasses on and my hair's parted like Clark Gable or something. It's really dope."
The Suicide Girls are a burlesque dance troupe that's a spinoff of the popular soft porn web site.
"Ladies And Gentlemen" comes off the band's new album, Blood Stained Love Story, which came out on January 23rd. It opened at Number 19 on the Billboard album chart, the band's highest debut ever.
Scott continues to develop his acting career and will re-team on a new film with director Craig Brewer, who cast the vocalist in a small role in 2005's Hustle and Flow.
Saliva has concert dates scheduled through April 29th and played on Wednesday, March 14th, in Fort Myers, Florida.
