Saliva song chosen as Wrestlemania theme
Saliva's hit single "Ladies and Gentlemen" has been chosen as the official song for WWE's Wrestlemania 23, according to a press release. The pay-per-view event is scheduled to air live on Sunday (April 1st), beginning at 7 p.m. ET. Saliva singer Josey Scott told us that he knew the anthemic song would lend itself to other types of entertainment: "It's got this sort of circus freak overtone to it, and it's like another 'Click Click Boom' as far as the dynamic of the song. It's really violent and lends itself to, you know, movies, movie trailers and sports and what-have-you."
"Click Click Boom" was a single from Saliva's 2001 major label debut, Every Six Seconds, and was also used by WWE for its No Mercy 2001 event.
Saliva recently released the video for "Ladies and Gentlemen," which features female burlesque dancers, a boxing ring, and Scott presiding as the master of ceremonies.
"Ladies And Gentlemen" comes off the band's new album, Blood Stained Love Story, which came out on January 23rd.
Saliva has added a handful of new dates to its current tour, including a show at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as part of the Indy 500 festivities. The newly announced shows are:
May 3 - Pensacola, FL - Captain Fun's
May 4 - Jackson, MS - Coliseum Festival Grounds
May 5 - Atlanta, GA - The Tabernacle
May 11 - Indianapolis, IN - Indianapolis Motor Speedway
