Scarlett Johansson reuniting with Woody Allen
Scarlett Johansson is following in the footsteps of Diane Keaton and Mia Farrow as Woody Allen's favorite leading lady -- without being in a relationship with him. The 22-year-old actress has signed on to star in her third film for the legendary director, which puts her alongside Keaton and Farrow as one of Allen's favorites. But unlike those actresses, Johansson isn't sleeping with the 72-year-old filmmaker like they did when they worked with him.
Johansson starred in Allen's Match Point in 2005 and in Scoop in 2006. The new Allen project also stars Spanish heartthrob Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz, and is being filmed in their native country this summer.
Diane Keaton's collaborations with Allen include Annie Hall, Sleeper, Play It Again, Sam, Love And Death, Manhattan, and Radio Days. Mia Farrow starred in The Purple Rose Of Cairo, Crimes And Misdemeanors, Husbands And Wives, and Broadway Danny Rose, among others.
Johansson is also the frontrunner for the starring role in a Broadway revival of South Pacific, according to the New York Post.
