Shinedown parts with bassist

Shinedown has parted ways with bassist Brad Stewart, a source has told us. No reason for his departure was given and there has been no official comment from the group itself, although there has been vigorous discussion of the change on fan message boards. Shinedown has been keeping a low profile since coming off the road at the end of last year after spending more than 14 months on the road in support of its 2005 sophomore album, Us And Them.

The group is slated to record and release its third album sometime later this year.

Shinedown only has a few scattered summer dates on its tour schedule at the moment.

The band traveled to the Middle East late last year, where it played several shows for U.S. troops in Kuwait and Iraq.
