Sinbad alive and well despite rumours

Contrary to Internet reports proclaiming his death, actor-comedian Sinbad is alive and well. News of The Different World co-star's demise hit the Wikipedia website on March 15th through an entry proclaiming that he had died of a heart attack Wednesday morning (March 14th). But Wikipedia said the post was a hoax listing that has since been corrected. Company spokesperson Sandra Ordonez said, "We regret any confusion or distress this may have caused Sinbad and his fans everywhere."

Sinbad's sister Donna also confirmed her 50-year-old brother was still breathing. She told Reuters he was "healthy, well, alive, and enjoying life." Sinbad's brother Mark said the death rumor started last weekend, and that he's been fielding condolence calls ever since.


Sinbad's real name is David Atkins. His credits include Jingle All The Way, The Cherokee Kid, Good Burger, and a guest spot on Moesha.
