Styx singer Tommy Shaw mourns the late Brad Delp
Styx singer-guitarist Tommy Shaw is mourning the death of Boston singer Brad Delp. Delp was found dead in his New Hampshire home on Friday (March 9th), and Shaw wrote on the official styxworld.com website, "We were all deeply saddened by this news and had been looking forward to seeing and hearing him in concert this summer... We will all miss him. He was THE most unaffected superstar vocalist I ever personally had the opportunity to meet and spend a little time with. He was naturally gifted and we will always be able to enjoy his earthly contributions to the soundtracks of our younger days whenever the spirit moves us by slipping in the Boston CD of our choice."
Shaw added, "Our sympathy goes out to his family, bandmates, friends, and to all Boston fans worldwide, who most certainly share our feelings today. God Speed, Brad Delp..."
New Hampshire authorities are working to determine a cause of death for Delp, who was 55 years old. His body was found by his fiancee Pamela Sullivan and initial police reports indicate suicide as the cause of death. Toxicology tests are being run, but there are no plans to perform a full autopsy.
