Velvet Revolver to "Rock on the Range"

Velvet Revolver, Papa Roach, Evanescence and Buckcherry lead the list of artists planning to Rock on the Range. According to MTV, that's the name of a new music festival set for May 19th at the Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. Hinder, Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle, Puddle of Mudd and Three Days Grace are also slated to perform at the event. There's no word on whether organizers plan to make it an annual outing.

In other news, Velvet Revolver drummer Matt Sorum revealed on a Los Angeles radio show over the weekend that the band has finished mixing its second album, Libertad. The CD's official release date is yet to be confirmed.

Velvet Revolver will perform on March 12th at the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremonies in New York City, where singer Scott Weiland and guitarist Slash will induct Van Halen.
