Alice Cooper pulls back the curtain on his life with the publication on Tuesday, May 1st, of his autobiography, titled Alice Cooper, Golf Monster: A Rock 'N' Roller's 12 Steps To Becoming A Golf Addict. The book is a pull-no-punches account of Alice's life, and it deals candidly with his alcohol problem, which almost ruined him at the height of his fame in the '70s.Alice told us that the book shows how the move from one addiction -- in this case, drinking -- to another -- playing golf almost every day -- worked out to his advantage: [

And continued the entire rock life -- you know, I mean, I still do concerts, I still do everything -- without the alcohol. And golf ended up being a good trade-off -- I traded one bad habit for another habit, only this habit was a lot healthier." To promote the book, Alice will appear on Last Call With Carson Daly on Monday, April 30th and on The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson on Thursday (May 3rd).
Alice hits the road for his annual world tour in Santiago, Chile, at the end of this month. He's also working up material for a new album, but with his touring commitments, it probably won't be out this year.
