The Bravery camping out in studio
The Bravery is holed up in the studio this week, setting themselves the task of writing and recording five songs in five days, to be used a b-sides to singles. In a journal posting on the band's website thebravery.com, frontman Sam Endicott describes the process as "kinda intense."
Endicott says, "I just don't bother going home now, I sleep in the studio. I made a bed in the vocal booth, out of some pillows and some spongy foam-like stuff they use to soundproof the walls. It's actually pretty comfy."
He says he was also woken up by keyboardist John Conway and drummer Ant Burulcich in a unique manner: "... In the morning I woke up to John and Ant having a Trombone-off. Ultimately John was the winner. In retrospect it was pretty awesome actually, but at the time really did not seem very awesome to me. Generally speaking, a Trombone Fight is not the kind of thing you want to be serenaded by first thing in the morning."
The band's latest single is "Time Won't Let Me Go," from their upcoming album The Sun and the Moon, due out in May. Keyboardist Conway told us about the themes of the single: "I think the main themes are regret and looking back on your life and realizing that, you know, different choices would have led to different results possibly and, you know, kind of torturing yourself over those possibilities -- what could have been and where am I now and how could it be better."
