Chris Cornell says he feels less pressure now
Now that ex-Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell has gone solo, he says he feels less pressure to match the success of his previous bands. The singer told Canada's City News, "When I did my first solo record, the last thing I was worried about was how it would sell. I had sold millions of records with Soundgarden. I sort of look at it as simply being inspired by whatever it is that I do -- as long as I'm naturally inspired by it, then somebody else would be interested in it. And that's been true all the way up to now."
Cornell's solo effort, Carry On, will be supported during an upcoming tour with guitarists Yogi Lonich and Peter Thorn, drummer Jason Sutter and bassist Corey McCormick. The disc will hit stores on June 5th.
Cornell will shoot the video for the track "Arms Around Your Love" with director Caswell Coggins, who'd previously worked with the Cranberries singer Dolores O'Riordan.
