Coldplay singer donates jacket for African Aid
Coldplay singer Chris Martin has contributed a black Dolce & Gabbana jacket to an auction that will raise funds for humanitarian relief in the African regions of Darfur and Chad, according to NME. The auction is taking place at eBay with proceeds going to human rights organization Oxfam. It will also feature items donated by Elton John, Corinne Bailey Rae, actress Sienna Miller and others.
The 10-day auction ends on May 3rd and aims to raise 500,000 British pounds.
Elton John said in a statement, "Right now there are two million people living in camps in Darfur and on the border with Chad. Oxfam is helping 500,000 people, providing basic sanitation and clean drinking water, but to reach more people they need our help."
Coldplay is currently in the early stages of work on its fourth studio album.
