Dave Matthews Band announces summer tour
The Dave Matthews Band has announced the dates and venues for its annual summer tour, which will begin on July 8th in Bridgeview, Illinois and stretch into early October. According to LiveDaily.com, supporting acts on the 36-show jaunt will include Pete Yorn, the Wailers, the Roots, Robert Randolph and the Family Band and others. The trek will also include a number of two-night stands, including the closing Los Angeles shows on October 1st and 2nd.
Pre-sales for members of the Matthews fan club are going on through April 9th, with tickets going on sale to the general public on the 21st.
The Dave Matthews Band is a perennial hit on the road, with more than 1.2 million fans coming to 62 concerts last year. The act grossed $58 million to finish at Number Nine on Billboard's annual Top 25 tour tally.
The group also began work on a new studio album earlier this year, which is due out before the end of 2007.
