Fall Out Boy bassist likes having "effeminate edge"
Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz says in the new issue of leading gay publication The Advocate that he likes having some sexual ambiguity in the group's image. The eyeliner-wearing Wentz told the magazine, "At some point when we were doing this band, I was like, 'You know what? I'm going to be the most androgynous person that I can possibly be. I'm going to wear girl pants and makeup.' I looked to David Bowie, Mick Jagger and people like that and I was like, 'That's what's missing in all the bands that we're playing with right now!' You need the effeminate edge." Wentz also said that he enjoyed making out with men, which he also told Blender magazine earlier this year, although he added that he drew the line at anything below the belt.
Wentz seems to be sticking with women for now, having been spotted around Los Angeles lately kissing and cuddling with Ashlee Simpson.
Fall Out Boy delayed the start of its upcoming Honda Civic Tour due to what the band called "personal issues," although a source told us last week that the real reason was lighter-than-expected ticket sales. The tour kickoff has been bumped from April 18th in Charlotte, North Carolina to May 11th in Denver.
The band will be on the road in support of its latest CD, Infinity On High.
