Fall Out Boy on postponed tour: No one is dead or going to rehab
Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz told MTV.com on Tuesday (April 10th) that "no one has left the band, no one is dead, and no one is going to rehab," after rumors began to surface about the postponement of the 2007 Honda Civic Tour, which the group delayed last week due to "personal issues." Wentz acknowledged that the trek was rescheduled because of a "health issue" involving a member of the group, adding, "(It's) not a health issue that anyone needs to worry about. It's not life-threatening, it's more about being overworked and worn down. I know a lot of kids were freaking out when we said it, but I wanna say as loud as I can that it's nothing serious."
Wentz did not disclose the name of the band member affected, but did say that the vote to postpone the tour was a democratic one. However, he hinted that not everyone in the group was happy with the decision, saying, "Half of us wanted to push through, and half of us thought if we went out, we'd get halfway through and then just decide to send the troops home...it's way more worth it to have a good show and have everyone in good spirits."
Fall Out Boy postponed the start of the tour from April 18th in Charlotte, North Carolina to May 11th in Denver. All the dates have been rescheduled except for May 1st in Sacramento, which has been canceled. The tour will finish up on July 2nd in Anaheim, California.
Wentz added more fuel to fan speculation about the state of the band when he was seen partying and making out with rumored girlfriend Ashlee Simpson at a Los Angeles club over the weekend. He told MTV, "I'm actually in a good place in my life right now."
Fall Out Boy will be touring in support of its latest album, Infinity On High. The CD's new single is called "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs."
