Foo Fighters re-sign with label
Foo Fighters have re-signed with the band's label, RCA Records, for a new long-term recording deal. In a press release, frontman and founder Dave Grohl said, ""With all the crazy shit that's gone down in the record business over the last 10 years, it's been a huge comfort to know that the people at RCA have always had our backs. The support and freedom they've given us has been invaluable and I'm glad to have them continuing with us into this band's second decade." The group's most recent release through the label, an acoustic concert CD called Skin And Bones, came out last fall and marked the quartet's first official live recording.Foo Fighters have sold more than 20 million records since releasing their self-titled debut in 1995 and have won four Grammy Awards.
RCA Records head Clive Davis said, "The Foo Fighters are true rock and roll hall of famers. It's been tremendously gratifying for us to be a part of their legacy and I'm thrilled that our special relationship will continue."
The band will head into the studio this month to begin recording their sixth studio effort, which is due out later this year.
They are scheduled to perform with the Police on June 23rd at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, and will also perform as part of Al Gore's series of Live Earth concerts on July 7th.
