Lynyrd Skynyrd kick off tour

It'll be a "rowdy" time at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama, on Wednesday, April 11th, as Lynyrd Skynyrd and Hank Williams, Jr. kick off their Rowdy Frynds tour. The rock legends and the country icon have paired up for two month's worth of shows, with the tour scheduled to wrap up June 16th in St. Charles, Missouri.

Skynyrd frontman Johnny Van Zant told us that working with Hank is a special thrill: "When you have Hank Williams, Jr. on stage with you, that's pretty amazing. (laughs). He's just one of a kind -- they broke the mold when they, (laughs) when they had Hank, that's for sure."

When the tour was first announced, Van Zant said, "Hank played with Skynyrd years ago and it was one heck of a show. Since then, we've been looking for the opportunity to tour together, because his fans are our fans, and vice versa."
