Metallica members nearly mobbed at Heaven And Hell show

Metallica frontman James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich were nearly mobbed by fans when they showed up to see Black Sabbath offshoot Heaven & Hell and Megadeth at the Los Angeles Forum on Wednesday night (April 25th). According to Blabbermouth, fans spotted the duo hanging out with Alice In Chains bassist Mike Inez at the soundboard. One attendee posted online, "Word got out and they were almost mobbed. Security had to go over and form a line across the sound area to prevent anybody getting in. They started a 'Metallica, Metallica' chant."

Ulrich recently told a New York radio host that he was "psyched" about seeing Heaven And Hell, the latter-day Sabbath lineup featuring Ronnie James Dio on vocals. Metallica inducted the original Ozzy Osbourne-led Sabbath into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.

Heaven And Hell will appear as "special guests" of Metalica at a July 5th festival in Vienna, Austria.

Megadeth is led by original Metalica lead guitarist Dave Mustaine.

Metalica is recording its ninth album in Los Angeles with producer Rick Rubin.
