My Chemical Romance begin second leg of US tour
My Chemical Romance began the second half of its U.S. tour on Saturday (April 14th) in Houston. Just like on the first leg, the group is playing its entire new album, The Black Parade, from start to finish, followed by a selection of earlier songs. Guitarist Ray Toro told us that the band feels it made the right choice to structure its live show that way: [

And, you know, for those people who maybe only know a couple of tracks, maybe it's a little boring for them because they don't know all the songs off The Black Parade and that's, I don't know, too bad for them. I think what we're doing is really truly for the fans and also for us, so I think it's the best way to do the show." British trio Muse is along as support on this leg, which hits San Antonio on Monday night (April 16th).
My Chemical Romance is tentatively confirmed to appear on this summer's Projekt Revolution with headliners Linkin Park. There has yet to be an official confirmation of any acts.
Guitarist Frank Iero had to leave the band's recent European tour late last month due to illness. It is not immediately clear whether Iero has rejoined the group for the new U.S. run. Guitar tech Matt Cortes filled in for Iero on the last European dates.
The latest single from The Black Parade is "Famous Last Words."
