My Chemical Romance looking forward to Projekt Revolution
Although Linkin Park has been keeping the lineup for this summer's Projekt Revolution tour more secret than a Dick Cheney meeting with the oil industry, that doesn't mean there's a gag order on the other artists involved. My Chemical Romance guitarist Ray Toro told us that his band is going to be there for sure: "We're definitely looking forward to it. There's a lot of great bands on the tour. I think, you know, Linkin Park, they're, you know, we've met those guys and they're a really great band. You know, they do what they do better than anybody else, they have a true love for what they do and, you know, they're all hard workers and we're excited to go out on a tour like that." Other groups rumored to be included in the Projekt Revolution lineup are Placebo, Taking Back Sunday, H.I.M., Saosin, the Bled and Mindless Self-Indulgence. There has yet to be an official confirmation of any acts.
My Chemical Romance begins its next North American jaunt on April 14th in Houston with support from Muse.
Guitarist Frank Iero had to leave the band's European tour last week due to illness. Although his condition was not disclosed, Iero did leave once before during a January tour of Japan after developing a sinus infection. There's no word on whether Iero will be well enough for the next U.S. run.
Guitar tech Matt Cortes has been filling in for Iero on the remaining European dates, which end on Tuesday (April 10th) in Denmark.
My Chemical Romance is touring behind its latest album, The Black Parade.
