New Rush album in enhanced format

Rush fans who want more than a standard CD version of the new album Snakes & Arrows can now pre-order an enhanced one. The new edition of Snakes & Arrows will be released on MVI disc, and it comes with high-resolution audio, 5.1 Surround Sound, and a 43-minute documentary on the making of the album, titled Rush: The Game Of Snakes & Arrows. The traditional CD version of Snakes & Arrows will be released May 1st, while the advanced one comes out June 5th. For more information and to pre-order it, go to rush.com and click on "Shop."

Singer-bassist Geddy Lee told us that he was very conscious of how things would sound while Rush was making Snakes & Arrows: [ Click to listen if you have a backstage pass] "I felt that Vapor Trails was a very, very dense record. And so, I went into this record wanting to do a record that was more open, where you could hear all the instruments clearly. You know, you might say that's a sonic thing, but it's not really a sonic thing -- you have to write and arrange songs in such a way that each instrument has its own space."

MVI discs, also known as DVD Albums, have more storage space than CDs, and they can be used in any DVD player.

In related news, Rush has just added a new date to their itinerary. The band will close out their North American tour on September 22nd with a hometown show at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
