1969 At Your Birthday Party by Steppenwolf peaks at Number Seven on the album chart, where it stays for two weeks.

1978 ZZ Top drummer Frank Beard and Catherine Alexander are married. They later divorce.

1986 "What You Need" by INXS peaks at Number Five on the chart.

1994 Hole releases their second album, Live Through This.

2000 Metallica files suit against Napster, Inc, Yale University, the University of Southern California, and Indiana University for copyright infringement. Yale and Indiana are dropped from the suit after they block access to Napster on campus servers.

2002 Ozzy Osbourne is given a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

2003 Bon Jovi appears live and performs on the QVC home-shopping network.

2004 "Slither" by Velvet Revolver is released.

2005 The John Lennon stage production Lennon has it's pre-Broadway premiere at the Orpheum Theatre in San Francisco.

2006 Crazy Little Thing Called Love by Queen is featured on American Idol.
