Panic! At The Disco breaks out of seclusion
Panic! At The Disco recently left their isolated cabin in the hills of Nevada, where the band has been writing new material, to play in Atlanta last weekend during the NCAA Final Four festivities. According to MTV.com, guitarist Ryan Ross said the band needed to take a break. Ross explained, "We're all sort of getting cabin fever. We'd go four to five days without leaving the house sometimes, and it's been nice to be outside for even a day. And I got sick of wearing sweatpants every day." The band has four songs finished and plans to remain in the cabin for another month before heading to Los Angeles to begin pre-production for its sophomore effort.
Ross and bassist Jon Walker hinted that the band's second CD might end up being a concept album, with Walker saying, "We all got together and created this -- I guess you could call it a concept -- that we all wrote and we were all involved with and pretty interested in...It's kind of a love story. It's a timeless age of romantic, poetic fantasies."
The next Panic! At The Disco album is expected out this fall and will follow up the quartet's hit 2006 debut, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out.
The band is confirmed to join the Shins, the Wu-Tang Clan, Crowded House, Kill Hannah and other acts to be announced at the 2007 Bumbershoot Festival, scheduled for September 1st, 2nd and 3rd at the Seattle Center.
