Paul McCartney could earn $400m from online Beatles deal

Sources say that Paul McCartney might boost his multi-million dollar fortune by as much as $400 million once the Beatles' entire catalogue becomes available for digital download. The announcement last week that the group's company Apple Corps had settled its long-standing lawsuit against the Beatles' record label EMI may prove to be the last major hurdle in getting the group's music online.

Although neither McCartney nor John Lennon's widow Yoko Ono own the publishing to Lennon and McCartney's classic Beatles hits, the royalties that they would still rake in as the songs' co-writers would earn them a major cash windfall.

According to Britain's The Daily Mail an online distribution deal is in the works with iTunes, rumored to be worth around $60 million. According to the paper, once the group's catalogue is online, industry experts are predicting that the Beatles songs and albums "could fill the top end of the album and singles charts for months after they are made available."

There has still been no word as to when the Beatles' catalogue will be available online.

According to various British sources, Paul McCartney has been snubbed by the organizers of this summer's tribute concert for Princess Diana. Femalefirst.co.uk reported that McCartney was specifically not asked to perform at the July 1st concert at London's Wembley Stadium so as not to upstage Elton John.

A source told The Daily Express that, "It has long been accepted that Paul always tops the bill, as he did at Live 8 and the Queen's Golden Jubilee concert. However, this would have been tricky for the Diana event as Elton inevitably is a lot more closely associated with the Princess and it's fitting that he should be the main act... If Paul had become involved, it would have caused all kinds of headaches for the organizers."

The concert, which is being organized to commemorate the tenth anniversary of her death, falls on what would have been Princess Diana's 46th birthday.

Macca, who will release his upcoming album Memory Almost Full on June 5th, has not announced any plans to perform this summer, although a European tour is being rumored for the fall.

A British tabloid claims that McCartney's estranged wife Heather Mills engaged in a "sex for cash" orgy long before she married him. The News Of The World quoted "party fixer" Ros Ashley as saying that Mills engaged in sex acts with Arab Prince Turki bin Nasser, actress/model Karajan Mallinder, and a prostitute, in exchange for money.

Ashley said that, "I couldn't believe my eyes when Heather FLOUNCED into the prince's hotel suite, STRIPPED down to her pants and PARADED up and down flashing her big boobs. The prince looked shocked. It was so brazen and unclassy."

She added that Mills might have slept with other men as well: "Heather, Karajan and the third girl, Petrina Montrose, got $2,000 each in cash to sleep with Turki. But he'd also pay for his Arab workers to go with girls as well." Montrose was also quoted as saying that she and Mills "were rewarded with cash and jewelry" for their lesbian-orgy romps.

McCartney and Mills married in 2002 and separated last May. The couple shares custody of their three year-old daughter Beatrice.

Shortly after their split was announced, soft-core porn photos of Mills from the 1980s were unearthed. Various tabloid tales of Mills supposedly being a high-priced call girl for wealthy Arab businessmen have also been reported by various British tabloids. Mills has denied that she was ever a prostitute.
