The Scorpions excited about new album

The Scorpions are really excited about their new album, Humanity - Hour 1. Singer Klaus Meine said, "Humanity - Hour I is a mature album, with lyrics that are often provocative and deal with the dark sides of the world we live in. At the same time, though, we are sending our fans a positive musical message, telling them to not let the insanity going on around us every day get them down." Guitarist Rudolf Schenker added, "There are many people who say the classic idea of a concept album is dead. We do not think so, and will once again swim against the stream."

Humanity - Hour 1 was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Desmond Child, who's worked with acts including Aerosmith, Meat Loaf, Bon Jovi, and Kiss, as well as such non-rockers as American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson, Ricky Martin, and country star LeAnn Rimes, among others. Guitarist Matthias Jabs (pronounced mah-TEE-es yahbs) said, "Desmond is a fabulous visionary who took us to musical levels we had never reached before."

Humanity - Hour 1 will be available in North America as an import beginning May 25th. There's been no word yet about a domestic release.
The band has got dates scheduled around the world to support the new album. They'll hit Mexico in mid-August for a few shows, followed by a few more in Canada through the end of that month, and a U.S. tour will likely come afterwards.
