Sum 41's "Underclass Hero" out in July

Sum 41 have put the finishing touches on their fourth album, Underclass Hero, which will hit stores on July 24th. The title track will go out to radio on May 15th. This marks the first time that frontman Deryck Whibley has produced the band's work. The singer/guitarist said of the effort, "I wanted to make an album that meant something important from beginning to end. I wanted it to have relevance and significance. It's not a concept album. It's not about fictional characters in a made-up story but there is a constant idea that runs through the record. It's a deeply personal statement that reflects the confusion and frustration in modern society.

Another track, "March of the Dogs," was made available yesterday (April 17th) for purchase at all digital retailers. The band, which includes bassist Cone McCaslin and drummer Steve Jocz, has yet to name a guitarist to join them on their forthcoming tour.

Although Sum 41 has yet to announce its own official tour dates, they will be performing at several festivals this spring and summer. Those dates are as follows:
May 4 - Memphis, TN - Beale Street Music Festival
May 5 - Tucson, AZ - KFMA Day
May 20 - San Diego, CA - 91X presents X Fest
Aug 14 - St. Louis, MO - Warped Tour
Aug 15 - Bonner Springs, KS - Warped Tour
Aug 22 - Fresno, CA - Warped Tour
Aug 23 - Sacramento, CA - Warped Tour
Aug 24 - San Diego, CA - Warped Tour
Aug 25 - Carson, CA - Warped Tour
