Tina Turner coming out of retirement
Tina Turner is coming out of retirement for an upcoming charity show and a new studio album. Soundgenerator.com reported that on May 18th, Turner will headline a benefit concert in Britain for the UK-based Cauldwell Children charity. The show, which will take place at London's Natural History Museum, marks Turner's first live appearance since her 2000 farewell tour wrapped up.
Turner said that she's more than happy to hit the stage for a worthy case: "I am delighted to be associated with a charity which reaches out to so many young people. If my songs make people dig deep into their pockets, then I will have achieved my aim."
Tickets will be raffled off for the show will all the proceeds going to Cauldwell Children, which "provides health treatments, therapy and vacations for underprivileged and unwell children across Britain."
There have been no announcements made about future live appearances.
Turner is currently recording her first album in eight years, which might be finished and released this year.
