White Stripes reveal Icky release date, album art
The White Stripes will release their sixth studio album, Icky Thump, on June 19th in the U.S., according to NME.com. The disc will surface in Europe one day earlier. The duo has also unveiled the cover art for the record, which is a black and white photo of singer/guitarist Jack White and drummer Meg White sitting and wearing heavily beaded outfits.
The album was laid down over a three-week period in Nashville, where Jack White now lives.
Icky Thump will follow the band's 2005 release, Get Behind Me Satan. It will be their first project through Warner Bros. Records, where they signed a new deal after their previous label, V2, shut down last year.
The band has confirmed an appearance at Tennessee's Bonnaroo festival in mid-June, along with several European festival shows, but full tour plans are yet to be announced.
