2007 Ozzfest to be Ozzy's last?
Ozzy Osbourne says in a new interview with Guitar World magazine that this summer's Ozzfest, which starts on July 12th in Seattle, could be his last. When asked how much longer he thought he could continue doing the tour, Osbourne replied, "At my age, I don't know how many more of these tours I have left in me. This could be the last one." Osbourne added that the festival takes a toll on him, saying, "It's a hell of a lot of responsibility for me. If I get sick or if my voice gets blown out or whatever the f*** happens, and I can't make a show, the audience gets pretty f***ing mad."Although he initially scaled back his participation last year, appearing at only about half the dates, he is headlining every show this time, explaining, "I owe my audience something. I owe them everything."
The entire interview with Osbourne appears in the August issue of Guitar World, on sale May 20th.
Ozzy will release his first album of all-new material in six years, titled Black Rain, on May 22nd. He recently said it's the first record he's ever made while completely clean and sober.
Fans who purchase specially marked copies of Black Rain will have a first shot at scoring Ozzfest tickets, which are free. The CD's initial pressing will contain a code that allows the user to obtain two tickets through a special web site on June 8th, four days before tickets are available to the general public.
