AC/DC members to play charity shows
Current and former members of AC/DC, Rainbow, and Grand Funk Railroad will come together in July for a series of benefit shows. Brian Johnson and bassist Cliff Williams will headline the "Classic Rock Cares" dates, beginning July 6th in Las Vegas, and they plan to do AC/DC classics as well as some new material recorded in the past year with members of the late Who bassist John Entwistle's solo band. The shows, which will also feature sets by Rainbow's Joe Lynn Turner and original Grand Funk singer-guitarist Mark Farner, will end in an all-star jam on AC/DC's "Highway To Hell."Seven shows have been announced so far, and there are plans to do a total of 15. Proceeds will go to the John Entwistle Foundation, which is dedicated to helping provide free music education and instruments via libraries around the country.
