Axl Rose vs Scott Weiland
Bad blood still apparently exists between Guns N' Roses singer Axl Rose and Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland. According to GnrDaily, Weiland was asked by Metromix Chicago about his relationship with Rose and responded, "I have never spoken to him, but I've gotten messages from him through (Velvet Revolver and ex-Guns drummer) Matt Sorum. They speak every once in awhile. I know that (Rose) was a fan of (Weiland's former band) Stone Temple Pilots back in the early days of Guns...I think that -- depending on his mood -- he vacillates between being into the idea (of Weiland playing with former Guns members) and kinda diggin' it and then hating my guts." However, a response from Axl's assistant, Beta Lebeis, was different in tone. Lebeis told Guns fan site Here Today...Gone To Hell!, "Though Axl spoke with Matt roughly a year ago, Scott doesn't interest Axl, there are no messages, no vacillating, no messages were given to Matt by Axl for Scott."
Lebeis also claimed to be the person that Velvet Revolver and ex-Guns guitarist Slash spoke with on the night he allegedly visited Axl's house in 2005 and expressed negative feelings for his current bandmates in Velvet Revolver.
Rose's revelation of Slash's visit, in which the guitarist allegedly called Weiland a "fraud," prompted a scathing rebuttal from Weiland, who called Rose a "fat, botox-faced, wig-wearin' f***." Slash denied visiting Rose's house.
Velvet Revolver will release its new album, Libertad, on July 3rd. The next Guns N' Roses effort, Chinese Democracy, is nowhere in sight, although five tracks leaked online last weekend were not very well received. G N' R is rumored to be performing at the German Live Earth concert on July 7th.
