The Beach Boys kick off summer tour

The Beach Boys are back on the road for the summer. The group, which now features co-founder Mike Love and longtime keyboardist Bruce Johnston, will be playing most of their legendary 1960s hits on the road, as well as deeper cuts from their catalogue which are featured on their new compilation, The Warmth Of The Sun.

Bruce Johnston says that the band's summer dates almost always include the band's more party-related material, rather than some of the quieter songs played during their winter tours: "In the summer, if we get outdoors, we'll drop some of the songs you might listen to in an amphitheater. So we just kind of stretch it around. You know, nevertheless we'll keep your standards in there. you know 'Fun, Fun, Fun,' or some of the simple, easy wonderful songs."
