Bon Jovi rocks American Idol

American Idol will get rocked New Jersey-style this week, with the help of Bon Jovi. Lead singer Jon Bon Jovi and lead guitarist Richie Sambora were on the appeared on Tuesday, May 1st, in pre-taped segments to mentor the performers about their band's music. Then he and the rest of the group will perform live on Wednesday, May 2nd, as the votes are announced and another finalist is eliminated. American Idol airs on Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET, and Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET.

The winner of this season's American Idol will be announced May 23rd.
