Evanescence announces new lineup

Evanescence has recruited Dark New Day drummer Will Hunt and guitarist Troy McLawhorn as replacements for departed drummer Rocky Gray and guitarist John LeCompt. Singer Amy Lee said in a press release, "I am a big fan of Dark New Day and can't wait for the fans to see what the guys bring to our live show." Fans will get a chance to check out the band's new lineup on Saturday (May 19th), when it performs at the Rock on the Range festival in Columbus, Ohio. Following a Sunday (May 20th) festival in Camden, New Jersey and a month-long European tour, Evanescence will co-headline the Family Values tour this summer with Korn.

Gray resigned from Evanescence earlier this month after Lee fired LeCompt from the band. Both musicians had spent about four years in the group.

LeCompt lashed out at Lee in a scathing post online, while Gray wrote that he was asked by band management to not talk about his resignation.

Gray is also auctioning off half a dozen gold and platinum album awards he received during his tenure with the band on eBay, according to Blabbermouth. Gray wrote online that the auction was his way of "just kinda cleanin' house a little bit." Bidding on all six plaques begins at $500, with the auction ending in about five days.
